An Cornish coastal dream…
This is the beautiful and notorious Portmellon!
It’s a small , east facing and sandy cove, with a slipway and popular for those wishing to launch boats. This tranquil beach lies in a part of Cornwall known as the ‘ Cornish Riviera ‘!
This glorious coastal settlement is situated in south east Cornwall in St.Austell and only a short walk to the old fishing village of Mevagissey.
A lovely , peaceful family friendly base for a holiday or weekend get a way! It has so much to offer, including:
crystal clear waters ( more so in the summer of course) perfect and safe for swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking.
* plenty of sand at low tide, which makes it perfect for dog walks with a coffee from Portmellonshack
* And of course it comes without saying, it’s breathtaking coastal views
I have spent summers jumping off the wall into the sea, sat on the wall watching the sun go down, cider trips to the pub ‘The Rising Sun’ and spent the warmer days paddle boarding and swimming, rainy walks to Chapel point , trying to spot seals , ( yes seals in Cornwall!) and sofa days watching films at Windrush.
I have been lucky enough to have been able to visit since 2022 in the early April with my boyfriends family and am always aching to go back, and spend time there as much as I can.
No matter the weather , this part of Cornwall in particular never fails to disappoint with its picturesque nature and warmth it offers. Anyone would be lucky to visit, experience the ways in which it can heal your body and mind
